Natacha 3rd at the 2008 Spanish Championship between her engineer and her faithful mechanics
This last round of the Formula 3 Spanish Championship was exciting as the stakes were high and as it was not enough, the rain come to complicate this event.
Natacha has made every effort to climb in the first two places in the overall standings but the will was not enough, it lacked just a few centimeters at the 6th turn of the 1st lap of the 1st race!
Unlike explained in the Race 1 Summary, Natacha was not intentionally pushed out, but it was not possible for her to pass as there was already 3 cars in the turn.
Natacha took the risk to play it for everything and did not want to stay behind to hope that others make mistakes. Her maneuver could make her win 3 places and allow her to return in the first 5 or better.
In the 2nd race, despite the dangerous conditions due to a wet track, starting 24th, she fought like a lioness back in the points, finally ended at the 11th place.
She showed this weekend that she is not afraid to drive in the rain and extreme conditions and that even under pressure, she is able to fight while remaining on the track.

That it, the 2008 Formula 3 Spanish Championship is definitively finished.
Natacha finished 11th in this race marked by the exit of De Marco ensuring the 3rd place in the overall standings of the Spanish Championship.
The trio are 2008 German Sanchez, Nelson Panciatici and Natacha Gachnang.
In the Spanish Cup, Nelson Panciatici and Natacha have both 110 points.
However there is an incident under investigation between Panciatici and Mehri.
The protests filed yesterday by teams Campos and Q8 (Panciatici and Sanchez) is not resolved since there was action.
The scores for 2008 will not be final today but congratulation to Natacha for this excellent season Natacha who rode magnificently, finishing 16 of the 17 races.
The final overall summary will be available tomorrow after our return from Barcelona.

The deluge! That is the situation. The track looks more like a giant swimming pool, there is a lot of wind and we are closer to sailing competition as a race car!
Formula 3000 have disputed their 1st race, and according to Nicolas Prost, conditions are extremely dangerous, with no visibility and aquaplaning. It's simple, he could not even see the Safety Car!
The 2nd race of the Formula 3 is scheduled for 13: 45 and all are hoping for a better weather. Natacha has nothing to lose because she will start at the last position. As the risk of accidents will be very high, she will need a maximum of concentration.

What a bad luck for Natacha. Started in the 6th line, she figured 13th passed by De marco just before the 1st turn. At the 3rd turn she had to cut the chicane because of two cars in distress and took the opportunity to double De Marco just after and got placed 10th.
At the 6th turn she arrived very quickly on the leading group and making the outside to move within the next bend. There was enough room for her but the pilot on her left pushed her intentionally outside de track losing all her chances. She ended last without having completed a single lap.
Her move was quite normal and would have allowed her to move from 10th to 8th place even to the 7th place. This race incident cost her any hope of winning the Championship title in Spain.
The winner is Roberto Merhi, in front of Nelson Panciatici and German Sanchez. De Marco meanwhile, finished 9th and scores 1 point.
This result is not final. Indeed, a protest was filed against Nelson Panciatici because of a front spoiler non-compliant. If Nelson were to be disqualified, he would not score any points this weekend, neither in the Spanish Championship, nor in the Cup and would leave the Title of the Spanish Cup to Natacha and Spanish Championship to German Sanchez , Her teammate. Moreover, it seems that De Marco was penalized a point for non-conforming shock at the Valencia race, losing 1 point.
The scores will be very difficult to do and it is not certain that we will know the final winners of both Championships this weekend.
On the side of Natacha, it is sure that she will start from the last position on the grid and she will do her best to earn a maximum of places and points.

01.11.2008 - 12:15 Qualifications Results

The hierarchy has been respected on the basis of qualifications. We find German Sanchez to 2nd place, Nelson Panciatici at 5th place, Natacha at 12th place and De Marco in the 13th place.
This meeting took place on a wet track and was interrupted only once by the red flag. To avoid penalizing pilots, organizers stopped the clock and each was able to drive 30 minutes.
Long placed between the 8th and 10th position, Natacha was found after the restart in a group of 4 cars and could not get out of it to improve her time.
The weather seems to improve and it is not excluded that the race of this afternoon (14:40) can compete on a dry track.
The start will be essential and Natacha's goal is to finish in the first 6 to be start in the 1st lines for the 2nd race of tomorrow.

1 hour before qualifications, we have the weather that was announced. There will be no doubt about the type of tires to mount on the cars !
We must hope that the session will not interrupted as the 2nd Free Practice Session of yesterday, in which case, the results may biased.
Natacha feels good and she will as always her maximum, but she will still need a boost of luck.

Free Practice Session catastrophic. The meeting was interrupted three times by the red flag totaling more than 20 minutes downtime!
Natacha could not achieve a single timed lap started like most pilot.
It seems that the changes to the car Natacha are positive.
What more, except that it rains a lot and that tomorrow it might be even worse!

The 1st Free Practice Session held on a wet track. Natacha finishes 11th behind her teammate German Sanchez, the actual leader of the Spanish Championship.
The behavior of her car is not at the top and some adjustments will be needed to make it more competitive.
We will see therefore at 16:00 after the 2nd session if the changes were effective.
Otherwise, depending on the weather broadcast, this weekend will be wet making it even more difficult to guess who will win the Championship.
